The jetty was built in 1905 replacing the original jetty which was located further south, in water that was not deep enough for the larger steam ships of the day.
The jetty is ideal for catching Blue Swimmer crabs in the warmer months, as well as seasonal squid, mullet, garfish, tommies and snook at night under the jetty lights.
